The car subscription is a practical alternative to leasing, but is not yet so well established. Alex Kappeler was the first in his area to opt for a car subscription. In this blog, he explains why he recommends it.

About Alex

Alex Kappeler is a long-time customer of Carvolution. He’s a dedicated project manager and family man who values his all-inclusive car subscription for its simplicity. As a pioneer among his friends, he was the first to discover the car subscription and recommends it to everyone around him. Find out why in this blog.

How did you first hear about Carvolution?

Definitely through the TV ads. I kept an eye on Carvolution for about six months and jumped on board when the time was right.

What convinced you?

That you have control over the costs and aren’t met with any surprises. At first, I thought it was just advertising clichés. But in the end, I concluded that a company wouldn’t invest so much in advertising just to deceive its customers. That gave me the confidence to try something new, stay current, and find out that the promises were true!

Is there anyone else in your circle who has a car with an all-inclusive subscription?

No, I’m the first. Many know about the car subscription, but it’s still hard to convince them. Leasing is a much more well-known alternative to buying a car. But many don’t realize that the subscription is ultimately cheaper. The problem, in my opinion, is that there’s still a lack of trust in the car subscription model. But I’m sure that trust will grow over time.

How happy are you with your Ford Kuga?

Very happy, it has everything you need. The BMW X2 I had before didn’t come with as many extras. The Ford Kuga truly offers more. The best part is that I didn’t have to spend extra time choosing features – everything I needed was there from the start without having to add anything extra that would cost more.

How did the switch from the BMW X2 to the Ford Kuga go?

The Carvolution showroom in Bannwil made a lasting impression. It’s simple and effective, spacious, bright, and you can feel the fresh vibe that Carvolution has brought to the space.

The service was fantastic too. I walked in, and everyone asked if they could help. I returned the X2 and was able to drive away with the new Ford Kuga immediately. So, I could start breaking in the car as I drove home. That didn’t quite work out the first time.

Why, how did the first car handover go?

The first car from Carvolution was actually the BMW X2. But initially, I received a Mercedes because the BMW wasn’t ready due to delivery delays. The Mercedes was delivered straight to my door without any issues.

Do you feel well-supported by Carvolution?

The contact is really excellent. I’ve never felt like I was talking to someone who was having a bad day when I called customer service. The reception is always friendly and accommodating.

At the Carvolution Roadshow, you visited us in Uzwil - What were your impressions?

I already had the all-inclusive car subscription at that point, but I was interested in something new, especially electric cars. At the roadshow, I realized that I’m not quite ready for the switch yet. I learned a lot about electric cars and found that the hybrid solution with the Ford Kuga is currently the best fit for me.

Do you recommend the car subscription?

To friends in my circle who mostly drive, I always recommend the car subscription. The understanding just isn’t there for everyone yet. But eventually, they’ll see it; otherwise, they’ll end up paying more in the end.

Do you have any suggestions for improvements for Carvolution?

It would be good if there were more cars in the price range between 600 and 700 francs and more affordable options for younger customers who are still studying or in further education. I think the car subscription is a great solution for young people since they only have to pay a fixed amount each month.
