What does a licence plate handover cost?
The costs are regulated by the canton and are between CHF 20 and CHF 300. When a licence plate is taken over, the vehicle is always handed over in Bannwil.
How does the control plate transfer work?

What do I have to do with the licence plates before starting the subscription?

The Road Traffic Office will send us the plates directly to Bannwil and we will take care of redeeming them. In this case, you don't need to bring anything with you. However, we need a completed form from you in advance so that we can have the plates sent to us. We will provide you with the form.
Will I get the licence plate back at the end of my subscription?
Yes, of course. After you return the car with the plates to us, we will send the plates to the Road Traffic Office. With the issued form, you can use your licence plates again within one year.
Does a control plate takeover affect the delivery date?
In principle, it should not affect the delivery date as long as you bring your licence plate together with the vehicle registration document on the day of the vehicle handover so that we can start the transfer.
