Carvolution, the car subscription provider from Bannwil in Bern, is now offering customers the opportunity to make a contribution to reducing CO₂ emissions through carbon offset projects - free of charge. Thanks to a partnership with myclimate, the direct and indirect emissions of the fuel can be offset by supporting certified carbon offset projects. The young company is thus setting an example for climate protection, which affects us all.

Carvolution has been providing a fuel card for the AVIA petrol station network since June 2020. Customers were previously able to save 5 cents per litre. They now have a choice: they can either continue to take advantage of the discount or invest in climate protection projects together with Carvolution to reduce the impact of fuel consumption. As waiving the 5 cents per litre is not enough to fully finance the climate protection contributions, Carvolution will cover the difference from its own funds.

Olivier Kofler, CEO of Carvolution, emphasises how important it is to take responsibility, especially in the automotive sector: ‘Climate protection concerns us all. We want to do our best on all fronts. On the one hand, every third car in our range is an electric car. Secondly, we also want to send a clear signal to combustion engine drivers by supporting climate protection projects. We are convinced that many of our customers want to work with us to promote greater sustainability.’

Climate protection through partnership

The collaboration with myclimate makes it possible to finance carbon offset projects that have a direct and positive impact on the environment. The non-profit organisation myclimate implements projects worldwide that promote measurable climate protection and sustainable development. Kai Landwehr, media spokesperson for myclimate, explains: ‘Carvolution is showing responsibility and focussing on electric mobility. By participating in climate protection projects free of charge, the company is also giving drivers of combustion engines the opportunity to actively contribute to climate protection.’

The contributions are channelled into a myclimate project portfolio that supports globally recognised projects. These include initiatives such as ‘Solar energy for education and jobs’ in Tanzania and ‘Small farmers reforest forests’ in Uganda. These projects not only contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases, but also promote social, ecological and economic development in the respective regions.
